Overview

Back ground

Two decades of building, operating, and sharpening how organizations run.

This is not a straight line, and it was not supposed to be. For more than twenty years I have worked where operations, technology, customers, and execution run into each other: retail, finance, infrastructure, data, field work, remodeling, advising other operators, and the websites and applications I have been building since 2007. Plenty of those sat on the calendar at the same time.

What I trust is the habit underneath the titles: make the work visible, tighten the structure, and leave something that still holds. The eras below are how I tell that story. Read them as centers of gravity, not as exclusive jobs.

Experience by Era

2019–2026

Operator & designer

Primary Focus

Residential remodeling, home-service operations, and advisory work running in parallel, with construction-ready interior plans as part of the same job, not a side hobby. Software and websites came back into the week as well.

Experience & Accomplishments

  • Built and ran a design-focused residential remodeling and home-improvement company serving North Texas homeowners: production, vendors, the books, several customer-facing service brands, and a sales team hired and trained from scratch.
  • Designed kitchen, bath, whole-home, and additions in Chief Architect, reaching for SketchUp when custom designs were needed, then carried those drawings through high-end remodels the field could actually build.
  • Advised owners and operators, mostly in home services and contracting, on process, hiring, customer experience, and technology that earned a place on the books.
  • Became highly proficient in JobTread over the last two and a half years, the system underneath estimating, cost catalogs, and field production. Presented on a panel at JobTread Connect last year, and this coming year I am teaching a full session on advanced cost catalogs and estimating techniques.
  • Put project systems in place that cut delivery timelines by about 15% and protected margin, inside a client-first model that held roughly 90% retention.
  • Kept building websites, progressive web apps, and software side projects alongside the operating work, with AI and automation becoming a more critical part of the equation.

Additional Thoughts / Notes

This was not one job. The remodeling company sat alongside advisory work, a licensed stretch in residential real estate, and some contract estimating and sales for a painting contractor. The useful part is the overlap: the drawings, the field, the sites, and the books had to agree.
